給民進黨主席蔡英文的一封信

擬稿人 Joseph Lin

Due to the incessant hacking of the TIW campaign offices and interference by China, please send the letter directly to the addressee below by U.S. Postal Service (snail mail). I urge everyone willing to send the message to take the "trouble" and mail the signed and dated letter out as soon as possible. The more letters she receives before her visit to the U.S., the better.

Ms. TSAI ING-WEN
Chair, Democratic Progressive Party
10F, No. 30 Bei-ping East Road
Chung-Chen District. Taipei, Taiwan

Presidential Candidate TSAI ING-WEN :

As a Taiwanese American, I am deeply concerned about the absence of clarity in your position during your campaign regarding safeguarding Taiwan’s democracy, sovereignty and human rights. Our representatives in the United States Congress will support Taiwan if there is assurance that the next leader of Taiwan will unequivocally preserve Taiwan’s democracy, sovereignty and human rights. Absent this assurance, support will continue to wane. There is serious public concern with security regarding the current China policy.

We urge that you publicly state that as President, you will preserve TAIWAN DEMOCRACY, SOVEREIGNTY AND HUMAN RIGHTS. This statement must be unequivocal.

Respectfully,

signed, title, date

為什麼蔡英文的「Taiwan Next」 不提台灣主權

◎ Bill Huang

I endorse the attached letter to Presidential Candidate TSAI ING-WEN, published at BATA.

The attached letter to TIW states:

"I am deeply concerned about the absence of clarity in your position during your campaign regarding safeguarding Taiwan’s democracy, sovereignty and human rights."

In TIW's "Taiwan Next" campaign, there are 12 subjects which include "democracy" and "human rights", but "sovereignty" (主權) is missing. ( "... 我們將從經濟、文化、教育、人權、就業、正義、福利、民主、環境、性別、住宅及公平等12 項議題出發,以自信的氣度創造台灣新未來。 ... " )

Hasn't that Mr. Ma been kowtowing to China and selling out Taiwan's Sovereignty to China inch-by-inch and day-by-day in the past three years? Isn't the loss of sovereignty the most scary crisis now in Taiwan? Isn't the impending annexation by China the most horrible nightmare of Taiwanese people nowadays?

Shouldn't TIW speak up loud against the loss of Taiwan's sovereignty to China during Ma administration? Shouldn't TIW assure Taiwanese people of the way she would use to stop the loss of Taiwan's sovereignty to China should she get elected?

If TIW doesn't attack Ma in her campaign on the loss of Taiwan's sovereignty to China under Ma, it would then lead people to believe that Ma's China policy is quite "reasonable" and "efficient". How could TIW win without emphasizing how to safeguard Taiwan's sovereignty? I wonder!

I do believe that if TIW could arouse the sense of crisis and then further advocate and kick up the anti-annexation passion (反併吞/反統一) among Taiwanese people before the end of this year, she would certainly win!

Yes, nothing and nobody matters more than Taiwan's Sovereignty and Independence, and nothing is more urgent than fighting against China's Annexation of Taiwan.

Yes, it is time for us to speak up before it is too late!

倒馬救台反併吞,
台灣人奮起!

God Bless Taiwan,
