We are pleased to share with you Congressman Ed Royce’s (R-CA) important letter regarding the protection of human rights and civil liberties in the case of former Taiwan President Chen Shui-bian.
Congressman Royce is actively involved in bringing attention to many of the unfortunate human rights abuses being committed around the globe. He is a senior member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and a vigorous participant in the Congressional Human Rights Caucus. In his letter, Royce draws attention to the disturbing reports concerning the deterioration in the health and physical condition of the former president. Royce has requested that the current Taiwan President Ma Ying-jeou grant a medical parole to Chen.
Yesterday in a Huffington Post article, Human Rights Action Center founder, Jack Healy wrote at length about the mistreatment and abuse of human rights in the case of former President Chen. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jack-healey/taiwan-president-chen_b_1449554.html?view=print&comm_ref=false
We are grateful to Congressman Ed Royce for his unwavering support of human rights.
