民主進步黨主席蘇貞昌今天探視前總統陳水扁後說，培德空間是很大，但不是陳水扁過去醫療團隊診斷建議，所需要的照護空間。
陳水扁移往台中監獄附設培德醫院治療，蘇貞昌下午在民進黨立法院黨團總召集人柯建銘、台南市長賴清德及民進黨籍立法委員蔡其昌等人陪同下，到培德探視陳水扁後，接受媒體訪問表示，他發現陳水扁很憂慮，很不放心培德。
他轉述陳水扁的話指出，陳水扁到台中監獄至今，只見過1名輪班的骨科醫師；晚上睡不著，有人每15分鐘巡邏1次，還坐在陳水扁的床頭邊，且連廁所都裝有監視器。
蘇貞昌表示，培德沒有負責的主治醫師。政府不尊重醫療團隊診斷，他呼籲依主治醫師建議，讓陳水扁回家療養、定期回診，不要錯失社會和諧的機會。
此外，公投護台灣聯盟百餘人上午到場守候聲援，要求釋放陳水扁，蘇貞昌接受媒體採訪後也與聯盟成員溝通。
公投護台灣聯盟總召集人蔡丁貴要求蘇貞昌和民進黨救陳水扁，並關閉朝野協商機制，直到陳水扁被釋放；蘇貞昌說，民進黨一定全力救陳水扁，但何時放出，須看政府。
台中監獄對媒體詢問陳水扁的生活起居三緘其口，僅表示，「一切正常」、是「私人的事」。

DPP Su visited President Chen at the Pei-De Prison Hospital
According to Central News Agency (Taiwan), DPP Chair Su was able to visit President Chen along with a few other DPP officials. Su states that although the space given to President Chen is large but the actual medical care is lacking, not in accordance with the recommendation by the Veteran Hospital doctors. Su found President Chen extremely unsettled with little trust in the Pei-De Prison Hospital.
President Chen told Su that so far he only got to see an orthopedics who was on call. He could not sleep because there is patrol every 15 minutes and one security even sat by his bed side. The bath room is also under surveillance.
Over 100 supporters, mostly members of Alliance for Safe Guarding Taiwan (ASGT), gathered outside of Pei-De, calling for the release of President Chen. Su met with the leader of ASGT, Prof. Ting-Kuay Tsay, who demanded Su to take real actions to save President Chen, including blocking Legislation Yuan until Chen's release. Su promised to try hard but the decision was up to Ma's administration.
Su called on Ma again to release President Chen to home care in accordance with the recommendation issued by the doctors at the Veteran General Hospital.
The prison authority of the Taichung Prison declined to comment on the condition of President Chen. Note that the Taichung prison is the largest prison in Taiwan, while the Pei-De Prison Hospital is a prison clinic within the Taichung Prison.
