由於蔡英文發放的春聯太中國化，廣遭批評，所以今年發放的春聯有改變，是引用台灣籍作家賴和的文字「自自冉冉」。但這次也引起爭議，研究專家說，賴和的文字應是「自自由由」，從字面意思和平仄格律，都應如此。台文系畢業的作家黃震南引用作家向陽的呼籲，「自自冉冉根本不合格律！」希望總統府能回收錯誤春聯，並且重印原詩句「自自由由幸福身，歡歡喜喜過新春」。臺灣文學館館長廖振富與詩人吳東晟推敲原句，也認為應是「自自由由幸福身，歡歡喜喜過新春」。廖振富糾正說，這句賀詞上下兩句沒有相對稱，不是春聯！連中文系教授也看不懂，說自自冉冉是什麼意思？一個春聯引起這樣大的爭議，但蔡英文政府發言人說，尊重不同解讀。什麼叫不同解讀，如果是錯了，就應該糾正。

自自冉冉 or 自自由由, to me, either way is BS. These are all Chinese Taipei thing. It is time to write in Romanian spelling for this new year thing. Speaking of Tsai's latest speech, it is just a speech. She claims that the poll number is not important as long as she knows what she is doing. Does she? For sure, it is a Q way to handle the un-pleasantries. She is turning into TsaiQ.
I read the readers' feedback about her speech on Liberty Times and it is about 80-90% negative. Actions are more important than words. By the way, she never mentions transitional justice in her latest speech. Does it mean that she considers it done or would she just do it without saying? Either way is NOT likely a good sign!

I don't quite agree with the comment that we had voted for a wrong person. We have to put it in a relative perspective. After Tsai cheated to ensure that she would be the only DPP candidate, the choice we had was only between Tsai/DPP and KMT. We did not really have a choice but to put away KMT first.
What can be done now is to challenge Tsai strongly to keep her in check and to ensure a strong competition to her within DPP in 2020.
We should speak loud (or throw shoes hard) against Tsai's bad decisions and policies, while also give her some credits when she does a right thing (no matter how rarely).
For now, don't let her get away with this Chinese Taipei thing. Just saw the headline that Tsai sang loudly the Chinese Taipei song during the New Year Chinese Taipei flag raising ceremony. Truly disgusting thing to see! Did she skip a few words like she used to or she sang every word loud?
