I’ve a house in my island,
I’ve lived there since my ancestor immigrated from the southern part of
China where I’ve never dreamed.
My soul has dwelled deep like a tree.
I built a house for my family like a nest that birds did.
I brought up my children with love and care.
I had the good time and I had the hard time.
I worked hard like a bull, only earned for living,
and I’ve suffered Chinese violence that I was not only one who suffered,
but nobody said a word because facts were always obliterated.
I’ve a house in my island,
A small cozy house.
My soul has dwelled deep like a tree.
